A special tour of the Moscow Industrial project, prepared within the framework of the International Urban Forum, is Danilovsky Cluster of historical industrial heritage.
It is an interesting, unique itinerary from Inna Krylova dedicated to the monuments of the era of rapid technological progress.
During the tour, we visited three wonderful examples of post-industrial renovation, which at one time were the flagships of various industries.
Danilovskaya Manufactory was founded in 1867 by the merchant of the first guild Vasily Meshcherin and by the beginning of the 20th century became the largest weaving factory in Moscow. The production of cambric and colorful chintz ceased only in the 1990s.
We saw the historical buildings of the workshops of the dyeing and printing factory, the Research and Design Institute of Testing Machines, Instruments and Mass Measuring Instruments (NIKIMP). Now the residents of the former Partnership of the Ryabovskaya Manufactory are some of the leading IT companies, restaurants, cafes, educational projects, design and architectural bureaus, many shops and showrooms.
The Rybnikov Manufactory is located along Kholodilny Lane, which changed its name several times. It became a refrigerating one only in 1925.
Now Danilovskaya Manufactory; is a media cluster, Partnership of Ryabovskaya Manufactory — a creative cluster, The Rybnikov Manufactory — business center.
The Moscow Industrial project has been prepared by the Government of Moscow’s Complex for Economic Policy and Moscow Industrial Relations as part of the Moscow Industrial Quarters program for the comprehensive development of former industrial zones, in partnership with the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory.
