Excursion Tanners and chemists four kilometers from the Kremlin

A special tour of the Moscow Industrial project, prepared within the framework of the International Urban Forum, is Tanners and chemists four kilometers from the Kremlin.

It is an interesting, unique itinerary from Inna Krylova dedicated to the 200-year history of the Tsindel factory and the 100-year history of the chemical factory of Farbwerke.

During a tour of the first calico-printed Fabric we learned about the history of the Emil Tsindel’s textile manufactory, which became the largest industrial enterprise in Kozhevniki. For many years, textile workers have produced a rich assortment of natural fabrics. Inna Krylova showed examples of fabrics from her personal collection.

We also talked about the chemical factory of Farbwerke. It was a chemical workshop, which was soon transformed into the Joint Stock Company of the Moscow Chemical Plant Farbwerke. It produced aniline dyes and functioned according to the charters of a German enterprise. Inna Krylova also told about where the Farbwerke concern came from.

The Moscow Industrial project has been prepared by the Government of Moscow’s Complex for Economic Policy and Moscow Industrial Relations as part of the Moscow Industrial Quarters program for the comprehensive development of former industrial zones, in partnership with the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory.
